is this the place that i've been dreaming of?
For the next week, two, Isak became the man he used to be, the animal he used to be. The guards were more at risk with an Angry mopping depressed Isak then they had ever been before. Since the day he had seen Gen walk off, not looking at him, believing him….rejecting him...well he had started to let his anger, his hurt build up inside until it exploded. Isak had ended up hurting two guards which got him a good beating from his brother, but Isak got some good licks in there. In truth his brother needed little reason to beat Isak, he seemed to enjoy it more then he should have, Isak knew Erik was on top of the world. The more Isak seemed to lash out, to hurt others, the more Erik’s grin grew until he was all teeth.

Only one guard seemed to take pity on the Jaguar, not that Isak wanted it, he didn’t need or want pity from anyone. Gen didn’t want anything to do with him and that was just fine...he had been fine without her, had been living his life just fine….he was fine now without her anywhere in sight. Of course no one believed the lie...no one but Isak, he was trying to fool himself into believing he would be just fine. Not that he’d ever admit it but seeing Gen walk away, saying she couldn’t do this...it hurt more than he thought it would have. Since she walked into his life he had found himself waking up each morning with a smile on his face, that hole deep inside slowly filling up with something else, something he had never felt before.

Gen acted like he betrayed her...and maybe he did, but he honestly didn’t do anything with Rosie. Gen ruined him, before she came into his life he was able to fuck anyone with no problems, he took what he wanted and cared little for others feelings and thoughts. He had been a selfish man taking what he wanted, doing whatever he needed to do to survive no matter if it hurt others or not. He never questioned his life before she walked into it, his light in the darkness...his angel. After she had walked into his cage that first time, he had found himself questioning everything, wondering, the what if’s, the what could be’s.

Isak had purposely hurt himself recently just so she would have to come in and heal him up, so he could try and apologize to her...but it had been a different doctor. A man who Isak had ended up hurting pretty badly, he had ripped the man’s hand from his arm...which got him another beating but Isak could care less. He had lashed out because he wanted to see Gen and instead of her they sent an annoying human man who knew nothing about shifters or even exotic cats for that matter.

The two weeks leading up to his big knockout fight, Isak found himself focusing on the training, even though Erik tried to limit the time he got out of his cage. Even Erik couldn’t limit him too much, not with his owner being the acting King of Feneria. So Isak spent as much time as he could training, taking his anger out on his sparring partner or the dummies they let him beat on. In those two weeks that he didn’t get to see Gen, his worked out, training, gaining more muscles then he had before, something Erik got annoyed at since he found it to be a competition between him and Isak’s strength.

The morning of the fight Erik kept away from his brother as he was busy setting everything up, showing VIP’s to their viewing areas and making sure the other fighter was ready. He was a Gorilla shifter, something Isak rather hated...gorilla’s but he had beaten this man before so he wasn’t too worried. In fact Isak went back to his cocky ass attitude that he had when he used to fight, before a certain blood had gotten under his skin, in his blood and head. The guard who was kind to Isak was the one that brought him up to the arena, Isak had the option of a weapon but he declined as he waited for the gate to lower and the fight to begin.

There was two other knockout fights before his and watching them got his blood pumping, that familiar adrenaline rush to kick start his heart. Isak pushed the blond from his mind as he jumped up and down, shaking his arms as he got ready for his own fight. He smirked when the guard wished him luck, but he didn’t utter the cocky comment he wanted to. Erik watched from the hall, narrowing his eyes at his brother before turning away to head back upstairs to his office. The blond Isak tried to push away was on her way to the Coli to help the two fighters who lost their fight. It was a knockout round but even so it could get very bloody especially when the fighter’s didn’t go down without a fight.

Twenty minutes later the gate in front of Isak lowered, that smirk on his face as he walked into the arena. He was unsure if his master, the King was there, but either way it didn’t matter he knew he was going to win. Or so he told himself as the other fighter entered the ring, he was big, taller and broader than Isak, more meaty . Isak looked thin, weak compared to the other fighter, to newcomer’s, people who have never seen Isak fight, this was going to be a fast match. To those who knew Isak knew this fight was going to be good, Isak made things bloody, and he was known to go a little overboard when fighting...even for a knockout round.

Kneeling to the ground, Isak let the shift take over him, instead of a man in the arena there was a big (bigger then normal Jaguar’s) Jaguar letting out an ear splitting growl. The other shifter didn’t bother changing, not yet, he had opted for a weapon unlike Isak who was sure he could take the man without one. Isak paced back and forth watching his rival, the other man beat on his chest a few times before he went charging at Isak the crowd cheering as they realized things had started. Isak waited, standing his ground as the man charged him, biding his time until the man got close enough.

When he lifted his axe to try and hit Isak with it, Isak dodge to the side quickly moving behind the man and jumping. He sunk his claws into the man’s back, burying his fangs into the bigger man’s shoulder before pulling his head back and tearing a chunk from the man. Gorilla shifter’s were big, strong, beefy but they had no intelligence, least in Isak’s opinion. They thought with their strength, not their brain. Erik watched from one of the VIP sections, he frowned, a glare in his eyes as he watched his brother down in the arena, he had money against him. He needed to figure out a way to tip the fight in his favor, to make sure Isak lost….only he was unsure of how to do that just yet.

If we're going to
be nice to each other

then I will need that glass of champagne

The parking lot was full when she pulled up to the Coliseum. Strobe lights were pointed at the sky, moving around in wide circles, catching the attention of people all the way across town. The edges of the building were lit up with small bulbs brightening the hedges lining the building. Ian had always made sure the lights were kept up to date, and Gen couldn’t remember a time when she had seen a single one of them out.

There was a sign out front that gave the public their general information and perks of the weekend's festivities. Along the building’s walls like a cinema were posters behind lit up glass. On these posters where the Coliseum’s undefeated fighters, or those that had done well enough to earn a picture outside. Right there along the door was Isak’s picture. His name written boldly at the bottom. A face that she had to stare at every time she had to come to her second job.

The witch sighed, staring blindly at her usual parking space which was taken up by some expensive red sports car. The bouncer at the door caught her eye and shrugged his shoulders, silently giving her an apology. He lifted his right hand in a closed fist, his thumb the only digit sticking out and bobbed it toward the back of the building. He mouthed the words “empty spaces” to her, before turning back to the line and gathering the tickets a wealthy man handed him.

Genesis rolled her eyes, pressing on the gas, and nearly running over another man in a loud three piece suit with at least four women following after him. They all wore mink coats, fluffy, and way too warm for the season she thought to herself. The man held his hand out as if that alone could have been enough to stop her car. She knew the rules of the road. Knew that she was always supposed to yield to pedestrians, especially in the profession she was in. It went against her oath to run the man over, back up and then do it again, but damn how she wanted to in the moment. Instead, she lightly tapped the horn, moving his gaggle of women faster.

Pulling around to the back she found a couple of spots that were free and slipped into the tightest one. Her car was small compared to many others that looted the lot, and if more were coming she didn’t wish to take up a bigger space when she didn’t need it. It was a kind gesture, one that would go unnoticed like most of the things she did, but she didn’t mind.

Gen exited her vehicle, locking the doors and tossing her keys into her handbag. They jingled as she walked, falling in between her wallet and cell phone to become silent. One of the guards from inside was walking out of the back for a smoke break when she approached the door. Almost reaching for her badge, when he nearly hit her with the metal door. He apologized and then held it open until she was inside, walking a good fifteen feet away before lighting up. The blonde barely paid him any attention to him besides a small smile and a nod.

The air inside the Coliseum was cold, the way a hospital was. The girls and their fur coats didn’t seem so silly now. It was the first time she would be on duty during a highly anticipated fight night, and Ian had jacked up the AC for the fighters in the arena hoping to prevent them from overheating. Always a man that protected those that earned him money, or so that was what she thought of him. He stood up for her because he needed her for certain things. Handled a hell of a lot because she did things others couldn’t. Erik didn’t see her the same way, and that was more than fine by her.

Tonight was the first time she had been back since her argument with Isak. After leaving the cages she had made her way up to Ian’s office, requesting two weeks off to focus on her first job. She gave him an excuse, and he allowed it after giving a day to think it over. He hadn’t liked the orders she had given him, but finding another witch who could do what she could on such short noticed wasn’t a task he was willing to take on this month. He had given her the weeks that she asked for, including reworking the schedule so she wouldn’t interact with Isak at all. Switched her elite fighter to Aya-Rose instead.

Gen couldn’t bear the thought of him, much less the sight. Even thinking his name still hurt, but Alec had helped get her mind off the shifter in the coming weeks. He helped her through it, had taken her out for ice cream one evening down in the central part of town. They had laughed, and she was surprised by how quickly Isak had slipped from her mind. She knew that it was partly because of his absence in her life. Without him there to be seen every day made the getting over him all the easier. Still, there was a sick feeling in the pit of her stomach, when she heard one of the guards mention his name. As had happened the further she got into the building.

She focused on her job, moving through the upper levels of the Coliseum until she arrived at Erik's office. Conrad stood at the door waiting for her, a rifle filled with nothing but rubber balls loaded his gun strapped to his back. His guard gear was tactical, black in color and intimidating, made especially for dealing the fighters down below the many floors, concrete, and iron. He stood in a ready position as if at any moment the whole area would become a war zone and he needed to leap into action. Gen recalled her first few weeks working here, the man was simply unbearable but had thankfully lightened up his tone. No longer was he overbearing, and constantly trying to reach his hand beneath her skirt. Overall, once you got past the macho, entitled ass part of him, Conrad wasn’t that bad.

Approaching him, he gave her a smile, and a quick wink that didn’t make her feel uncomfortable. “Evening Gen...Erik is down in the cages...getting the slaves ready.”

“I didn’t come to have a chat with him, just to leave my bag. Sadly his office is the only place I trust, besides Ian’s, and to be honest I’m not going in there.” Genesis hadn’t stopped walking, until she reached the door, pointing at the knob, and the badge scanner expecting the wolf to open it for her.

Conrad heaved a heavy sigh, looking down the hallway as if half expecting to see Erik coming down it. When he didn’t he swiped his little plastic card with the magnetic strip and nodded toward the door. “Hurry it up. You wouldn’t want him to catch you in there sweet cheeks.”

She gave him a hard look at the nickname, narrowing her eyes until they were barely slits. Conrad laughed, straightening himself back into his locked and loaded position, as she closed the door behind her.

The room smelled like the big burly man, and had plenty of expensive art work and knick knacks to make any history buff or elderly woman’s jaw drop. Gen cared little for the material items, moving behind his desk to a desk of drawers that was firmly built into the wall. She kneeled, sliding one of the doors to the side, and finding a snug little spot for her beige leather bag. Her phone was on silent, but her pager was in her pocket should the hospital need her.

Gathering up the manilla folders that she had pulled out, she replaced them neatly to hide what she had placed inside the cupboard. What Erik didn’t know wouldn’t hurt him, and so far she had never been caught. At least until today. Voices were heard just outside the door. Conrad for sure, his booming vocals loud, as if he were speaking to someone quite a distance away. Gen could hear the tip of his rifle knock against the wood as if in warning, but Erik’s office was void of any hiding spots. Like she would have hidden from the egotistical head guard anyway. She worked it to her advantage (or at least she hoped she did), taking a seat in his chair, that was lifted to its fullest height, her feet dangling, the tips of her boots barely skimming the floor. Across the room, the door opened with purpose, and in the threshold stood the ever scowling Erik. Gen could only give him a dashing smile, her vampiric fangs gleaming in the light overhead.

“Hey!” She said enthusiastically.

I am not afraid of the storm that comes my way
------------------------------------------------------ makes me stronger than before---------------------------

Genesis Cameron ❋ 1353
All the preparation work was going to be for nothing if Isak continued to fight the way he was right now. He was dodging every attack the gorilla shifter was throwing at him, or swinging at him since he had yet to shift. Erik had tried to keep Isak’s training down to a minimum in hopes that he wouldn’t be as prepared for this fight, but his owner was acting King of Feneria. Meaning, he was an important client, guest of the Coliseum which meant his slaves were high priority. Of all the master’s in the blasted kingdom, Isak had to get bought by the highest ranking one. Of course if Isak misbehaved Erik had all rights to limit him, to punish him especially if he bit the guards like he liked to when throwing a tantrum.

Oh had he throw a tantrum alright, his older brother couldn’t help himself when his little blond refused to come take care of him. Since the day Erik carefully let Gen see what Isak was up to, his brother had been none stop biting, fighting, throwing a fit. Isak went back to his old ways, ways Erik hadn’t actually seen since he was hired after Isak met blondy. He had heard the stories alright though, Isak the animal, as wild as his jaguar. From what the guards and even Ian had said Isak was a high risk slave before little blondy had shown up and gotten under his skin. One of the guards who still worked around Isak’s cage had lost a few fingers because his brother had torn them off. He was not human, a wolf like the Coliseum owner so thankfully he healed quickly but still.

All those years his father, their father tried to get Isak to be the animal he was meant to be, born to be, their father failed. Well he failed while Isak had been a free man, it seemed becoming a slave, the thing he fought to protect, had turned him into the animal their father wanted. It was not what Erik wanted in this very minute or even this lifetime besides when the blonde was around. In this particular moment what Erik wanted was to see the Gorilla shifter cut Isak down, he had money against Isak. Not only did he bet against Isak, nothing would bring him more joy than to see his brother take his last breath.

There was no brotherly love between the two of them, there never was, never would be. Isak hated Erik as much as visa versa, Erik was the bastard born who got more love and respect then the true son did. The sooner Isak was struck down the sooner Erik could start enjoying life, not worrying if Isak would be freed some day or not. Which brought Erik back to the fight at hand, Isak moving around the ring with speed and dodging the attacks with skill. Erik knew he was just playing with the Gorilla, trying to draw the fight out so it went on, trying to give the people a good show.

Isak made eye contact with Erik as he once again dodged the other shifter, that smirk in his jaguar eyes. Cursing low under his breath Erik turned on his heel and pushed past a few people, out to the hallway. He slammed a hand onto the button for the elevator, stepping in and pressing his finger to the scan, within two minutes he was exiting on the top floor. Erik was in a foul mood, that scowl on his face, his forehead forming worry lines, he needed a way to get Isak to lose...not just for the money. He barely heard Conrad as he shouted a hello, oddly he stepped in front of Erik, blocking off his path. ”Seriously not in the mood Conrad, get the fuck out of my way or I'll knock you through the wall"

Erik glared at the other man, he usually joked around and didn’t mind bullshitting but right now he was trying not to punch the wall. Conrad gave him a hard stare, glint in his eyes, Erik knew he didn’t like the thread but tough shit, he didn’t like being stopped. Conrad suddenly gave an easy smile. " Hey man, was just letting you know you got a pretty blonde in there...know I ain't suppose to let her in but she strong armed me." Turning the other man opened the door and Erik just stared at him with a raised eyebrow. What blond would come to his office? Was it one of the slaves for his wife? Did she literally come to the coil on one of the busiest nights just to bother him with home shit.

Erik ran a hand through his hair as he stepped into the room, he started to open his mouth to snap at the slave but the words caught in his throat as he spotted a very different blond sitting in his chair. Turning to look back at Conrad he smirked, and mouthed asshole, but smart move on his part for not telling Erik who it was. If he had known it was the blond plaything of Isak’s he would have literally strangled Conrad for letting her in. With a sigh Erik turned back to Gen, that glare in his eyes and a scowl on his lips, he wasn’t in the mood for her shit. However as he stepped forward, about to snap at her he caught motion behind her head. The camera’s were filming the ring, and on the one screen he saw Isak still prancing around the ring, making play swipes at the other shifter.

It was then that he got an idea, one that might just work in tipping this fight in his favor. Instantly that frown left his face and a smile, charming and as bright as the sun, it shadowed his face. ”I was just about to call you, thank you for saving me the time.” Erik walked closer to her, opening a box on his desk and taking out a key card, stuffing it into his pocket. ”Get your sweet ass up you have work to do, change of plans for you today. You need to come with me to the ring, Ian want’s you there in case one of the fighter’s go over board. We have important Master’s and guest tonight, if something goes wrong it’s on all of our heads.”

Partly true, this was a knockout fight if something would go too far, terribly wrong like a death, one of the important stiffs in the VIP’s could be upset. God forbid you upset one of them, Erik could easily be one of those stiffs, he had the money the name. He just preferred to get his hands nice and dirty unlike them, paying others to do their dirty work. So it was sort of true that he needed her by the arena, he did, just for another reason completely. ”Ms. Cameron let’s go, by the time we get down there the current fight should be over.” Another lie with how Isak was messing with the other fighter, he was drawing the fight out on purpose.

Erik walked back toward the door, not waiting for her, expecting her to follow as he opened the door and strolled out. Stopping near Conrad he turned, waiting for Gen a smirk now on his lips, his mood doing a three sixty. ”Think you can not let anyone else into my office while I’m downstairs?” One look at the blond hybrid and Isak would flip, good or bad it would distract him, all Erik had to do was get her within his eyesight. The man was so happy he was tapping his foot just because he had to move, he wanted to kiss his lucky stars that Gen showed up when she did.

If we're going to
be nice to each other

then I will need that glass of champagne

She had been slouching when the door had opened. Gen had rushed to the chair, plopping down in the seat without so much as fixing her shirt. Before he turned she looked down the bottom of her stomach showing. Grabbing the hem she tugged it down, and leaned forward, one elbow on the desk trying to appear relaxed. Both of her legs were out in front of her, one crossed over the other at the ankle. Her bottom was just on the edge of Erik’s swivel chair, and the back was leaning forward threatening to dump her out on the floor. Her arm on the desk was the only thing that kept her balance even, and she turned toward him her smile bright but her cheeks rosy.

One of her hands came up, pointing to one of two chairs that sat directly across from her. These chairs were meant for the visitors who came to the office, not for the man who owned it. There was nothing wrong with a little roleplaying was there? In Gen’s mind, there was nothing sexual about the term...at least not yet at the point in her life. For now, it was a simple and playful gesture, once Erik looked down at her.

At first, she didn’t allow his scowl to dislodge her from her somewhat happy and mysterious mood. “Please Erik, take a seat.” Gen attempted to wipe the smile from her face, knowing for a fact Erik was the man you didn't want to upset.

He was predictable. Grumpy and a complete dick, but open like a book all the same. A man of power, who didn’t like to be challenged, no matter if it came from a harmless little blonde witch. Because of this, Gen tried her best to be submissive, and appeal to his better nature. Even if the better nature required her to stroke that inflated ego he carried around like a damn balloon.

However, the head guard was not in the least bit amused, or that was the way she had taken it when he glanced over his shoulder back at Conrad. Gen’s eyes locked with the guard outside, but his expression didn’t give away what mood she was to expect of Erik. Yet, when he turned back to face her, the scowl had disappeared. He was distracted by something behind her. A fight most likely on his cameras that she refused to look at. And then...a smile?

Instant caution crossed her face. She pushed the chair she had been sitting in back a bit as he strode confidently over to her. Her arms coming up and off the desk to give him room to reach for some sort of box. So close to her he was that she could smell the soap on his skin. Gen swallowed hard in her nerves. Erik was much bigger than her, and any damage he caused with a hit she didn't see coming out be devasting. Her eyes dropped as he stuffed something in his pocket. She was eye level with his hips, but it wasn’t the part of him that she wanted to give her attention to. Her eyes moved back up to his eyes; the windows to the soul. Often she wondered if he had one and then answered that he must. The pictures in his office screamed how much he did. Of course, there was one his wife, but another woman as well. Her frame was more grand first off, and second, her photos were the only ones Erik was in.

She remained where she was until he took a step back, lifting into a stand that carried her around the desk where he awaited. The door was open, revealing to her Conrad, and a few people walking down the hallway. Gen hated working at ringside. Erik knew it, and more importantly, Ian knew it. She suspected that was her punishment for requesting those weeks off. Somehow, she knew that it would have come back to bite her in the ass.

As they walked down the hall, Gen had to nearly jog to keep up with Erik (his footsteps huge compared to her own). Her eyes lowered to the pocket where he had stuffed the card and then moved back up to his face. It was still in a pleasant mood, and it caused the hybrid to raise an eyebrow.

“So much business when it comes to the head guard. Couldn’t even take a moment a little fun joke.” She scrutinized at him jabbing him in the side with her elbow. Of course, she was talking about the little game in his office. A game that hadn't been her idea of fun either, but it would have done well enough to distract him. She was just thankful he hadn’t asked her why she had been there in the first place. By now she had worked up an excuse, but back there on the spot she might have fumbled over her words making Erik more paranoid then he needed to be.

In all honesty, she liked when he smiled. But then again she liked it when anyone in the Coliseum did. Everyone was always so serious and yelling orders. Punishments were constantly dealt out when something wasn’t done the way Erik liked. Like the Red Sea, they all parted when he walked down the hallways. Well, all except two.

Gen had never felt the need to bow to him like he was some Coli King. He was a person, just as she was. He was neither worse nor better than her. Everyone in Gen’s naive eyes was equal, and all deserved to be happy. Even the slaves down in the cages. Slavery didn’t fit into her cookie cutter box. It was restraining and inhumane. For so long she thought she had no thoughts about it at all, but Isak had shown her what it was like to want something, and never get the chance to have it.

I am not afraid of the storm that comes my way
------------------------------------------------------ makes me stronger than before---------------------------

Genesis Cameron ❋ 1353
Erik wasn’t one to get too serious, he liked to joke, liked to stay on the lighter side of things, especially when around Conrad. He was one of the only people Erik could stand, Ian was another but then again Ian was the boss. He was a wolf, same with a lot of the guards, but Erik got along just fine with them. Unlike his brother he didn’t have anything against the werewolves just because they were well canine, in fact he liked that aspect about them. Erik just wasn’t in the mood for any joking today due to the little shit of a brother he had.

Isak was going to win this fight unless Erik did something, obviously breaking him and the witch up helped instead of hindered him. Isak’s lack of training in the past couple weeks also didn’t seem to affect him down in the ring right now. Now that he didn’t have a certain blond to worry about he could focus on the fight, on winning and becoming the animal he had once been. Erik to say the least was not happy, instead of hindering his brother he ended up helping him. Erik had no idea how to throw the fight, make sure he won and Isak got hurt, he had come to the office looking for an answer.

The key card he had grabbed was one that would get him inside one of the most dangerous slaves cage...one who could easily take Isak out with no problems. The slave hardly fought anymore but sometimes he was brought out to make things interesting...to go against the other top slaves to make things bloodier...interesting. Erik had every intention of pulling him out to go against Isak, a surprise match which wasn’t a odd thing to do. Sometimes they set up another match if the current matches weren’t bringing in the excitement Ian hoped they would.

Now that he had blondy with him...he knew that path wouldn’t be necessary. One look at her and Isak would lose his shit, and not in a good way. The head guard smirked to himself as his body hummed with excitement, that shit eating smile stayed on his lips even as Gen spoke, breaking through his thoughts. ”I have about a dozen fights going on, I have the most important players in the city here. There is no room for fun darling...though who knows maybe I’ll have more fun now that you're here.”

Erik smirked at her with a wink before looking ahead again, he started whistling...a soft happy little tune. He ignored the jab in his side as he strode down the hall, that smirk never leaving his face. The people who passed made sure to stay out of his way but they all had raised eyebrows. No one has ever seen Erik look so happy while at the Coliseum, he usually bore a serious frown and angry eyes. It worried them to say the least...they also worried for the blond because they assumed she was about to get her ass handed to her.

Erik hit the button to the elevator and waited, still whistling he only stopped once they were in the elevator and he hit the button that would take them to the ring side of the coli. ”So Ms. Cameron how was your time off? Do anything fun….do anyone fun?” He smirked looking down at her before crossing his arms behind his back and staring at the door. Little innocent probably stayed in her apartment watching some love sick movie, eating her feelings away. Woman...so mushy and this one made his brother mushy, it was enough to make Erik want to throw up.

Even though he loved Laila he was never mushy, least not in his opinion. They could be as blunt, brash, rough as they wanted but all the while they knew they loved one another. Isak was never one to be mushy, he had always been rough around the edges, always harsh, always ready for a fight. He was more of an animal then Erik would ever be, it sort of disappointed Erik that he could be played so easily by a blond hybrid who had no idea what she wanted. Then again that was the very reason Isak would lose today...so he guessed it was a good thing after all.

When the Elevator doors opened he waved his hand for Gen to go first, then he followed that smirk back on his face. He lead the way toward the arena, everyone that walked toward them parted so he could pass without getting near them. Erik walked faster then Gen and he didn’t bother slowing down, he wanted to make sure Isak was still in the ring fighting. When he arrived at the side he smiled that shit eating smile. He didn’t bother looking to see if Gen was behind him, she should be if she knew what was good for her.

In the Ring Isak was still dancing around but the other opponent was bleeding so that meant Isak was getting his swipes in. The other shifter was now a gorilla, bigger than a normal one, he was huge, tall and broad. Jaguar versus Gorilla, a big one, the other shifter could easily break Isak if only he could get his hands on him. Erik smiled, baring his perfectly white teeth as he glanced behind him then back into the ring.

Isak noticed him but that glint was in his eyes as the lunged forward and sunk his fangs into the Gorilla’s arm. The other shifter easily threw him off, throwing him across the ring, but Isak landed on his feet...like he always did. ”Oh just in time to see the fight Gen….come come you don’t want to miss a thing.” He spoke in a friendly tune, one he’s never used toward her but right now he was giddy, oh so giddy. ”This fight is to die for my dear….”

is this the place that i've been dreaming of?
Isak had this fight in the bag, he could easily take the gorilla down but he didn’t want to….not yet. Anyone who has ever seen his fights would know he liked to drag them on, make it good and bloody, a fight they’d remember for weeks...months from now. Despite Erik’s attempts to keep him from training, the shifter was doing a rather good job, far better than his opponent who was getting frustrated with Isak’s dancing back and forth. Gorilla’s thought with their muscle, their brawn not their brain, Isak usually had no trouble taking them down when he wanted to. He had gotten a few swipes in but it was more like he was playing with his prey before going in for the kill much like a wild Jaguar would.

Isak had been focused on giving a good show that he didn’t notice his brother had left the ring side. When he did notice he had a bad feeling, like his brother was up to something however he pushed his thoughts and worries aside. The crowd pushed him on as they cheered and clapped everytime he got a swipe in, the Gorilla shifter had changed from human to Gorilla after the third time. His anger controlled him, it drove him, but he was clumsy and Isak was fast, much faster then he was. Dodging this way and that Isak danced around the Gorilla, it was then that he noticed Erik was back, smiling like a kid on christmas morning.

It worried Isak a little but the glint was in his eyes as he lunged at the Gorilla, the very big Gorilla shifter. He sunk is fangs into the Gorilla’s arm, the shifter shook Isak off easily but as he did Isak took a large chunk of the man’s/gorilla’s arm. The crowd cheered as the Gorilla’s arm started pouring with blood, it was easy to see who the favorite fighter was. Isak had enough of the dancing, now that Erik was back he had every intention of ending the fight, going in for the kill finally.

The Jaguar crouched low to the ground, erupting from his chest, mouth was the loudest growl the audience had ever heard. It bounced off the arena, the stands, it also made the Gorilla react with uncertainty. The Gorilla hit the ground, several times, then beat on his chest but he didn’t move, didn’t run toward Isak. Isak on the other hand took off, his jaguar body moving with great speed, as he did he glanced over to his brother, that glint in his eyes but it faded, replaced with a look of surprise as he noticed a certain blond standing beside Erik.

Isak halted in place, coming to a skidding stop as he glanced at Gen...his heart squeezed, his blood pressure spiked and for a second he totally forgot about the fight...the big Gorilla. It was enough time for the Gorilla to act, taking Isak’s surprise reaction to attack the other shifter. The Gorilla ran toward Isak, but the jaguar did not move...didn’t even notice the fighter he just stared at Gen. Those golden eyes of his looked into her’s and when he did finally tear his gaze away it was too late.

The Gorilla brought his huge fist down onto Isak, there was a snap and Isak howled in pain. He swiped at the gorilla, then sunk his teeth into his arm but Isak wasn’t there fully...half his mind was on the fight but the other half was on the blond. Isak glanced toward Gen as the Gorilla grabbed him by the scruff and tossed him across the ring. Isak hit the side of the arena, causing several of the audience to jump up from their seats.

Isak shook himself off but as he ran toward the gorilla he was limping, his left front leg was broken, however he hardly noticed as he lunged himself, claws out, at the Gorilla. The Gorilla smirked, and before Isak could make contact he grabbed the jaguar out of the air. Everything that happened next seemed to be moving in slow motion, Isak tried his best to wiggle free but the Gorilla wasn’t letting go for anything. Isak remembers looking at Gen, his eyes locking with her’s as the Gorilla bent him in half.

Isak’s back snapped, breaking as the Gorilla bent him in half before throwing him once more across the arena. The whole arena went quiet, it was deadly silent besides Isak’s howling, crying out in pain. Erik only smirked as he watched his brother, the Gorilla ran toward the jaguar but Isak just lay there, withering slightly as the pain ran through his body. He attempted to move once...twice but everytime he fell that horrible sound escaping his throat.

The Gorilla reached Isak, bringing his fist up then down once, twice, three times, pummeling Isak until the Jaguar no longer moved...not even withering in place. The Gorilla went to hit him again but suddenly his collar sent an electric shock threw him, enough to make the shifter to crumble himself to the ground. What happened next was several guards entered the ring, two of them rushing toward Isak to make sure he wasn’t dead.

Erik was smirking the entire time, but he watched his brother...knowing the man wasn’t dead. Isak would not open his eyes, until they hit the button on the control to his collar, forcing him to shift back involuntary. The deadly quiet arena was startled as Isak yelled and cried out in pain, it was a sound no one had ever heard from the shifter. And as he lay there in the ring, withering in pain, tears streaming down his face from the pain, two more people rushed into the ring with a stretcher, but Isak ignored all of them. He turned his head, glancing at Gen, his blue eyes locking with her’s. "Gen...." Was the only thing he uttered before he passed out from the pain.

She was the last person, thing he saw before the pain reached the point of passing out. Erik tried to hide his happiness but he didn’t do a very good job as he moved away from the Blond with a ”Come on….looks like your needed after all.” Erik let out a little chuckle and then started whistling as he headed in the direction of the cages. Isak was put onto the stretcher, they would take him back to his cell and hopefully he remained unconscious until someone was able to heal, reset his bones.

If we're going to
be nice to each other

then I will need that glass of champagne

The upper hallways of the Coliseum were mostly bare of patrons except for the few guards that lingered. Those that protected the offices of higher ranked officers than themselves. Gen turned her head to peer down one end, seeing two standing rock still on either side of one. A T.V. was mounted on the wall directly across from them, showing what was happening down in the arena. Above her, through the speakers the announcer could be heard. His voice was high, and whiney as if he spoke through his nose, as he gave a play by play of what was happening below. The crowd was nothing more than a dull roar from where she stood, gasping, and with the rare hollers of excitement as their favored opponet got a good shot.

Unlike most of the to other employees that worked at the Coliseum, Gen had never found herself in the stands. She had even barely looked up when she had been down in the cages or the break room, to watch as slaves were torn to pieces over and over again. She had been paid to heal them, and therefore in direct reflection only witnessed the aftermath of such events. The hybrid could never have brought herself to bid on a winner, or even entertain the thought that this was something she would have liked. In all truth, she hated the games. They were just as cruel as the chains of slavery and had only taken the job because she could have extended her work and vow to help those who couldn’t help themselves. The money Ian offered was an added bonus, but it wasn’t the reason she had accepted the job when he had come calling.

When the elevators opened Genesis didn’t hesitate to step inside beside Erik. There was a small voice in the back of the mind that cautioned her when getting in such close quarters with the head guard. Many of the slaves that habited the cages hadn’t been so lucky when the got one on one time with the shifter. Yet, there was no fear as she crossed that line. Her bright eyes watched in silence as he pushed the button, resting her spine on the back wall, and propped a single foot to on the reflective surface.

It wasn’t the first time since she had been working here that she had been forced to be alone with Erik. Each time for a different reason, but he had never been one for chit chat. The silence between them had never been uncomfortable, despite their obvious dislike for one another, and so Gen had always remained in her single lane. Her thoughts flew to the tasks he had previously laid out for her, instead of trying to fill the silence with the sound of her own voice. It was the reason why that when he spoke to her she looked up at him in mild surprise.

His voice was deep, not as deep as his brother's, but attractive enough. It was pleasant sounding when he was in a good a mood. The fact that he was speaking to her at all had caught her off guard just about as much as what it was he asked. Instantly her mind flew to the last few weeks, and the not so dead man she had brought home. Did he know? Was Ian watching her? Did he keep tabs on all his employees, and she would never have a moment of privacy again? She heaved a heavy sigh, trying to not let it show that the second question he asked was highly inapproriate between them. Her lips formed a small perse, hands smoothing the front of her black jeans though she didn’t need to considering how tight they were.

“To answer your first question, yes. I went to the festival they had down at the square…” She didn’t go into detail about who she went with, or what had happened after that. Nor the amount of dectetive work she had done to help a friend who could have used an extra pair of eyes, not to mention a little witchy assistance. She had also visited her newly acting sire a few times, learning the basics of what he could teach her. She had been thrown back it seemed into a stage of learning how to be what she was. A stage that Gen thought she had mastered long ago before the vampire nature of her showed up uninvited.

Between them, and the lowering of the elevator, there hadn’t been enough time for the hybrid to ask how Erik’s week had gone. She had still thought about as the doors began to slide open, but then again his sudden interest in her week rubbed her wrong way. There was a certain degree with the way the shifter spoke, a way that made her disabelieve anything that came out of his mouth. Of course, Gen had no evidence for her thoughts to be dissuaded and had no choice but to trust him. A gut feeling wasn’t enough to allow her disobience, especially during a job that the slaves direly needed her for.

However, the moment that they arrived at the steps that would have led them out to the seating overlooking the arena she halted. Behind Eriks dulled image she could see the patrons yelling, eating their snacks as they watched the massacre happening right before their eyes. It was there again, that warning that had cautioned her in the elevator. Don’t. It whispered in the back of her mind like a small part of her conscious. Why would Erik need her out here? Suspension slowly crept into her veins, causing the blood within them to run cold with a slight fear. When she didn’t move a subtle darkness fell over the eyes of the head guard, but his movements were smooth as he reached out to her. Large fingers wrapped around her wrist, tugging her forward. Even with her feet planted she was leered forward, and she supposed a small part of her was curious to what he could possibly want to show her.

The arena spread out before her like a sandy death trap, and she knew from the moment she had stepped into this building that had been exactly what it was. The patrons who had paid their money to get inside where cheering or booing depending on what section you listened too. Up in the boxes were the more blessed citizens of the city, and you could scarcely see their faces behind the tinted glass.

None of this however called Gen’s attention as her eyes were locked on the center of the ring. She barely even noticed the gorilla who barreled down upon the Jaguar she knew all too well as Isak. The hybrid whipped around to face Erik, finally understanding the smug look upon his face that she had been so blind to before. “Why did you bring me here!” She yelled over the hollering of the crowd. Blonde curls whirled around her head as her eyes locked with those of the man who had made her heart flutter.

It stopped. The whole of the world frozen in a time. His eyes weren’t blue in this form, but she knew the soul that dwelled behind them. Her aura reached out to him, both her hands settling on the railing to keep her balance and just like that it was over. The world continued without her, as the gorilla scooped up Isak in one swipe of his large arms.

Like a toy, the cat was held up over its head only to be folded in half. The cracking of Isak’s spine sent a shock wave out across the crowd, and up in the boxes, Ian brows furrowed, picking up the phone and immediately making calls to get Gen down the cages, unaware that she was already there. The patrons in their expensive seats grew quiet, all except for one. Heads turned agonizingly slow toward the witch, whose scream was as devastating as the broken cat who laid in a slump in the middle of the ring. Tears brimmed her eyelids in heavy streams, her body only held back from going over that railing by the guard that had brought her here. She struggled, trying to defend the much larger man off so she could get to Isak. Nail dug into his arms, sparks misfiring from the tips as her emotions tipped the scales of her magical control.

“Ian wants her downstairs!” A single and low ranking guard had come up from the cages, his face desperately looking from Gen to Erik and back again. “Let her go, man!” He yelled now, demanding his superior in a haste of panic from the wrath of the only man who outranked Erik himself.

The broad arms released her and like a wild cat, she turned on him. As quick as she could muster a hand came up, fingers closed into a fist and punched him aiming for his face. “Piece of shit!” She yelled before the other guard grabbed her as she was going in for another. The sweaty hand of the lower wolf was enough to make her realize what was more important, and for her finale, she kicked some of the dust on the floor toward the head guard before disappearing down the tunnel toward the cell she knew Isak would be brought too.

Down in the cages, the halls were like a maze, but the months of working down in the slums of the building had gained her an advantage when mastering them. Days she had spent exploring, visiting all the slaves she could whether she had been ordered to or not. As she flew by their cells now they all moved toward their doors, anxious for the one friendly face that greeted them day after day. With her disappearance the wolves howled, the vampires hissed at the guards, doors rattling for their escape in her wake, but became silent as Erik passed.

Isak was where she thought he would be, slumped on the floor like some forgotten trash all because of how Erik demanded the jaguar be treated. The cage door unlatched, the four guards within the cell force pushed all in the back wall as a threatening hiss came from the woman whose duty was to care for the injured. Gen fell to her knees, careful not to jostle the man, though she wanted nothing more than to scoop him into her arms. Fingers moved through his hair, her eyes scanning his broken and bruised body.

Without thinking she pushed her own wrist up in the pointed teeth of her fangs and delivered a nasty bite. Blood ran freely from the open wound, darkening her black her jeans and staining the shirt she wore heavily. Holding it over Isak's mouth she parted his lips with her other hand and thrust his jaw open to intake the gift she was giving him. Gen could hear the liquid slipping down his throat, and the calm of panic made room for the seething rage.

Looking up toward the quad of guards still at the back she hissed again before screaming. “GET OUT!” It was high pitched, but there was no mistaking the emotion that linger behind ever syllable. The cell door slammed, and the locks moved into the proper placement before her attention was pushed back to the badly injured shifter. The skin along her wrist had sealed, and Isak’s body was already beginning to morph back into its proper alignment. Along with his spine, she could hear the bones cracking, and once he was straightened she moved behind him to place his head in her lap.

“Isak?” She spoke softly, bowing her head over the top of his. Pink lips kissed his forehead, feeling the clamminess of his skin as she moved them down the bridge of his nose. “Please be okay…”

I am not afraid of the storm that comes my way
------------------------------------------------------ makes me stronger than before---------------------------

Genesis Cameron ❋ 1353
When she didn’t move in toward the ring Erik let out a soft sigh and rolled his eyes, reaching behind him and grabbing her wrist. Erik didn’t care if she didn’t want to see the fight, she would see the fight because it pleased him that she did. There was no one besides Ian that would stop him from making her watch and Ian was in the boxes. He needed this to go his way, he needed his brother to lose this fight if nothing more then his pleasure. Tormenting Isak was all the pleasure he needed in the Coli, making him suffer for his existence was enough for Erik.

So when Gen refused to come closer he pulled her in with a ”Because your skills could come in hand...besides I thought you’d want to see the shifter.” He turned his eyes on her with that shit eating grin of his an eyebrow carefully rising. ”Unless of course you’ve move on with someone else….could explain why you refused to see Isak since your little spat.” Erik laughed softly and turned to glance back at the fight, watching his brother as he turned his head.

Erik faked horror when he saw the Gorilla pick his brother up, snapping him in half but he couldn’t help the grin that spread across his features. The sound of his back snapping in half was music to Erik’s ears and the smile that appeared was something of pure enjoyment. The tiger inside Erik only roared with pure predatory satisfaction, his tiger slammed against the mental cage Eric kept tucked away. However as Gen went to fly over the railing his animal instincts kicked in and he caught his prey before she could escape.

The Scream from her lips was also music to his ears, he nearly laughed but from the corner of his eyes he saw someone approach. So the head guard hid his real reaction behind a mask and acted just as worried as everyone else in the arena. ”You go over the rails Darling and you’ll be the next thing the fighter snaps in two. Not very good to my brother if your also bleeding and broken.” He whispered the words in her ear and smirked slightly before he turned toward the lower ranking guard as he snapped at Erik.

All amusement left Erik’s face and something cold and calculating entered his eyes as he glared at the guard. He opened his mouth to speak but nothing came out as Gen’s pathetic fist hit him squarely in the jaw. Erik let out an animalistic growl that caused the other guard to flinch and give Gen a sympathetic look. ”Darling you need to get yourself under control, you hit me again and I’ll make sure you never see Isak again.” His tone held a warning, it was a promise not a threat.

He’d simply suggest someone else be used to heal Isak because the hybrid was becoming too emotionally involved with the King’s property. Ian could take his advice or not but Erik could be very convincing so could the King. Isak whether Erik liked it or not, was the property of the most powerful human in the city...Gen was just the healer employed to keep him alive. Erik could easily spin that she was the reason he got distracted. It was the truth so it wouldn’t be that much of a stretch...no one went against what Erik said minus Ian but Ian wasn’t there to do so.

Erik watched as she turned away and fled for the cages, meanwhile Erik turned to the guard who dared order him about. ”Report to Conrad and tell him to find you a duty that puts you out of my sight...otherwise I’ll find something for you to do.” With that he followed after the blond, taking his time and a happy tune coming from his lips as he whistled. He didn’t spare the slaves a glance but he did smirk as the noise they made came to a halt with just his presence. Erik stopped just outside Isak’s cage, his four men glancing between him and her as she fell down beside his brother.

Isak was pale, sweat running down his body, he was very still...deathly still and no sound came from him. Erik hid his joy and happiness well, instead he kept that scowl and annoyance on his face. His men barely met his gaze when he glanced from the blond to them as the scurried out of the cell. ”Lock the door, if she wants to put herself in danger then let her.” Erik turned back to her with a little smirk flashing quickly before it was gone in a flash. ”Better hope you can heal him blondy...he is the King’s favorite fighter and Ian wouldn’t be happy if he died.”

With that Erik turned on his heel without further commentary and headed for the Elevator. He needed to talk to Ian, assure him that the shifter (his brother) would not perish. He also needed to make sure the king wasn’t there, or if he was he too knew his prized fighter would not be dying. Not that Erik would care if his brother died, in fact he had plans to make sure that very thing happened. First he needed to find the right tool...person to do the job and that could be tricky.

Who would willingly go against Ian, chance his and the King’s wrath just to help Erik out? Not a lot of people were Ian’s enemy….those that were didn’t usually last long or they were biding their time to strike. Erik also needed to make sure that his name wouldn’t surface as the cause of Isak’s death...he rather liked working at the Coli but he also needed...craved Isak’s death. So whistling to himself he made his way toward the elevator and up to Ian’s office to smooth his ruffled feathers...fur.

is this the place that i've been dreaming of?
”Gen….” It was the last thing the shifter muttered before the pain became to great and caused him to pass out. Even in an unconscious state he was very aware of the pain, trapped in it and his head as the guards rushed to his side. He had heard her scream but didn’t see it, nor did he see her throwing a punch as his brother. If he had he would of told her not to, that Erik wasn’t worth it...that he was dangerous. He would of told her to not put herself in danger because of him, because Erik would use his weakness for her against him.

He already has since their fight several weeks before, when she thought he hooked up with the whore Erik brought him. Usually he would of but since meeting Gen he hasn’t been able to take anyone to his bed. Usually they rewarded him with sex, the King rewarded him with sexual favors from mistresses and whores alike. That day though Gen had been so wrong, he kissed the woman but he couldn’t go through with the act...not when she was on his brain.

It had been Gen he wanted beneath him, Gen he wanted to be kissing holding making moan with pleasure. Which is why he couldn’t go through the act with someone else but she didn’t want to listen or believe him. Since then he’s been trying to rid himself of her image, her voice, her face from his mind. Of course when Erik showed him that image of her kissing..or looking like she was about to kiss some red head he lost it. That’s when he focused on training and preparing himself physically and mentally for this fight but even that didn’t help.

The minute he found her face in the crowd, next to Erik all thoughts about the fight went out the window. She was so beautiful and those eyes were wide with worry and fear, he wanted to drink in her image...sketch it into his mind. She was a distraction he couldn’t afford and unfortunately he paid the price for his attraction to her. The pain that rippled through him was almost as bad as the time he lost to his father...when he nearly died then.

His back was proof of his fight with his father, and oddly as the pain rippled through him it caused those old scars to burn as if they reopened. In his mind Isak screamed in pain, calling out to Gen but as they carried him to his cage he was deathly still. He uttered no groan or cry from the pain ripping through him. He heard nothing that Erik said nor did he hear Gen’s response to his brother, he was only aware of the pain and faint sensation of something being poured down his throat.

He swallowed involuntary but still his eyes remained closed but the fog clouding his brain lessened as she lowered her head to his. He heard her voice in the dark clouding his mind, her voice begging him to be alright, to be okay. It was her voice he followed out of the darkness, her voice that brought him to along with the kiss she placed upon his nose. Isak’s eyes remained closed but as his mind cleared he became very aware of his bones snapping back into place, the pain radiating through him. He arched up from where he lay trying to move away from the pain, get away from the cracking and snapping of his body trying to heal itself. ”Gen get away….” He moaned through the pain, his teeth clenched one another, his jaw popping with the tension. Still his eyes remained closed, body twitching with the pain and though he tried to hold back his groans he couldn’t. He whimpered and tried to roll himself away from her, extending his claws, he started scratching the floor. He shuddered once, twice, the pain was quickly bringing out the beast inside him until he roared loudly with all the pain he was feeling.

”Gen I don’t want to hurt you….” He finally opened his eyes and begged her, pleaded with his eyes that she move away from him. He tried to move himself but then the bones in his back snapped, twisted trying to put themselves back in place. It had Isak rolling away from her, pushing himself into the corner of the room, his claws causing deep puncture wounds on the floor. The guards outside started to open the door before Isak growled, the noise bouncing off the walls and his teeth extending. As quickly as they opened the door they slammed it closed once more leaving Gen trapped in the cell with him.

Isak was healing, faster then he would of without her blood but the process was a painful one. The pain was all he was registering right now and the fact that he was even awake was a amazing...he needed to get away from the pain He clawed everything around him, pushing himself to the corner trying to put space between them so he didn’t end up tearing into her. ”Why…..why are you here.” He gasped softly, digging his claws into the wall causing an awful noise to bounce off the walls. ”Why now are you here…..why did you even bother healing me!”

He was telling at her but partly it was because of pain, the other part was from the picture he had seen. She had left him, abandoned him, condemned him and then went out and did the same thing. Why was she even there, why didn’t she just let him wither in pain, it’s what he deserved right. Why did she even care, according to him he was no better than Erik..she didn’t want to see him again so why was she here now.
